Dave Hughes - Head of Colour

With close to 3 decades in post-production, Dave is a highly regarded colourist whose credits span award-winning feature films, high-end TV drama, and major commercial campaigns for brands including Guinness, Ford, and Lloyds Bank.

After honing his craft at Soho 601, Screen Scene, and Condor Post, Dave joined Windmill Lane in 2004, where he became known not only for his technical precision but for his intuitive, collaborative approach to visual storytelling. His deep understanding of colour science and creative grading has earned the trust of internationally renowned directors and cinematographers including Bob Richardson, Mikhail Krichman, Seamus McGarvey, and Sean Bobbitt.

Dave’s feature credits include Leviathan (Andrey Zvyagintsev), Greta (Neil Jordan), Miss Julie (Liv Ullmann), and The Secret Scripture (Jim Sheridan). A calm and steady presence in the grading suite, he brings both artistic vision and technical rigour to every project.
